I was in Las Vegas fairly recently, and one of the casinos I visited was the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, which is located at the South Strip end of town. This amazing hotel and casino will delight gamblers from around the world. The hotel has been a winner of more AAA Diamonds Awards than any other hotel/casino in the world. The property is open 24/7, and it’s huge. With a casino occupying 170,000 square feet, and over 5,000 guest rooms that are beautifully decorated, you’re going to want to stay at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino for a while when you visit.
MGM Grand has been around in Las Vegas since 1993 on the Las Vegas Strip. It has a Hollywood theme, focusing on movies and entertainment icons across the years. The hotel has 30 floors! At night the whole property lights up as this beautiful emerald colour building – signifying its link to the Wizard of Oz, Yellow Brick Road, and the Emerald City. I’ve included a photo of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino below, that I took from a quickly moving passing bus – apologies for the slight blur.
Now I know what you’re thinking… what’s the gambling like? After all, we’re gamblers – and whilst travelling to Las Vegas is a nice holiday, it’s really all about making some money! Well, at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino you will find over 2500 slot machines, and close to 200 casino table games. The table games include Blackjack, Craps, Baccarat (midi and full), Let it Ride, Pai Gow Poker (and Pai Gow Tiles), Spanish 21, Roulette, Poker, and the Wheel of Fortune. There are far too many slot machines to mention here, but I can tell you that you will find slot machines in various coin denominations including pennies, nickels, quarters, dollars and even twenty five dollar slots. The range of games include Wheel of Gold, Betty Boop slot machine, Addams family slot machine, Megabucks progressive slot machine, Wheel of Fortune progressive slot machine, Elvis, Jeopardy, and of course The Wizard of Oz!
If you enjoy a bit of racing or sports betting, the race book and sports book at MGM Grand are for you. Pop by anytime to put a bet on your favourite sports team or reality TV show – so many options!
I’m hoping to visit Las Vegas again later this year – it’s my favourite holiday destination. Until then, I’m going to raise some holiday funds by playing in some of the cool online casinos we feature on this blog – yes, I’m a real casino player myself! If you have any questions, please get in touch.
