Planning For Las Vegas

I can't wait to visit Las Vegas Nevada again! Damn this Covid epidemic!

It’s been quite a long time since I’ve gone to Las Vegas – and I miss it terribly. I’ve not been away from Las Vegas by choice, but my travel plans have been greatly affected by Covid-19. With international borders closed, it makes it very tricky indeed to go anywhere for fun and relaxation except locally in my own country. At present there’s no problem getting into the USA as a double vaccinated person from my country. My problem instead is coming home, where we have only a limited number of beds available for Managed Isolation / Quarantine – and huge demand.

I suspect this is a problem many of us are facing around the world. I do expect borders to open at some stage, and I do expect travel freedoms to become better over time, but at the moment I’m playing a waiting game… which feels like forever. It’s been nearly two full years since I was last in Las Vegas and there’s so many new things to see even in that time: Resorts World on the Las Vegas Strip; Circa Las Vegas Downtown; Virgin Casino Las Vegas (replacing the Hard Rock Casino, and now run by the Mohegan Sun gaming group); Area 15 displays; the Las Vegas Haunted Museum and more.

Covid-19 has really made things interesting for travel. I used to get currency in USD before I left my home country to take to the USA – but many of the smaller currency brokers have permanently closed now, and only a couple of banks still offer foreign exchange services. I guess these closures and service reductions were inevitable when you’re not getting international tourists into the country, and when your own citizens aren’t travelling much. I’ve got a few USD left after my last trip (maybe a couple of hundred dollars), so I guess I’ll simply take that in my pocket, and then ATM cash out once there. It does make you wonder what would happen if there’s an ATM network issue when you’re there though. The other option would be to wire money ahead of time to the casino cages of the main casinos I’ll play in – but that’s not ideal either. As I’m not a US Citizen, I’ll be unlikely to be eligible to apply for casino credit. Interesting times.

I quite often come back with full suitcases from Las Vegas, especially after visiting the Las Vegas Downtown Outlets and the Meadows Mall and other locations like Walmart. Just as well, given the US postal service temporarily suspending US mail services to my country, stating a lack of travel capacity (flights for cargo). Hopefully I can get to Vegas soon! In the meantime whilst I’m waiting for the borders to open I’m playing the great range of casino games online at the various casinos I promote on this blog (I only ever promote casinos I play in myself that are reputable and pay out).

Welcome to Las Vegas Everyone!
